Trusted Coaches announces a new partnership with Shelby Youth Ball (SYB)
“On behalf of the entire Trusted Coaches team, I am excited to welcome the Shelby Youth Baseball and Softball Association from Lacrosse, WI,” said Dawson Blanck, Executive Director of Trusted Coaches. “We understand the track record and proud history this association has and we are excited to partner with them on the Trusted Coaches program. All coaches, parents, players and fans will gain further confidence in Shelby Youth Ball because of the additional security and confidence they receive from Trusted Coaches.”
The Trusted Coaches program includes first-aid training, concussion instruction, positive coach training through the Positive Coaching Alliance® (PCA), and a national criminal background check. To date, Trusted Coaches has provided training for over 2,500 coaches in Minnesota, Iowa, and Louisiana. Shelby Youth Ball will now be the first youth sports organization in the state of Wisconsin to adopt the Trusted Coaches program.
Trusted Coaches provides a comprehensive training program that is convenient for coaches and administrators, is cost-effective by providing volume discounts, has the credibility of being developed by a dedicated team of medical, legal and youth sports professionals, and gives participating youth sports organizations and parents the confidence that their coaches have received professional training through Trusted Coaches.
Trusted Coaches is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization and was created by the Minnesota Youth Athletics Services (MYAS) and the Wisconsin Sports Services (WSS) as a response to youth athletic associations need to train their coaches and to protect young athletes.
Shelby Youth Ball (SYB) has been in existence for over 40 years and is one of the largest youth baseball/softball programs in the Midwest. SYB, is an all-volunteer sports organization in La Crosse, Wisconsin and has nearly 600 boys and girls between the ages of 4-14 participating in summer baseball and softball.
“Ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth is our #1 priority”, commented Shelby Ball President, Matt Thornton. “We want to also make sure our coaches are well educated on a variety of coaching matters and we feel partnering with Trusted Coaches is one more step in that direction.”
